Workshop questions

Single Transits

Should PLATO have separate multi vs single piplines?
(why would this matter?)

Will we gain additional period constraints from TESS + PLATO lightcurves?

Can we place priors on the eccentricity from transit assymetry? What precision would be required?

What should the criteria be for following up monotransits?

If PLATO sees one transit and is predicted to observe only one more, is there anything we should do to prepare (simultaneous observing or early RV?)

Strange Transits

What could the red and blue PLATO cameras tell us about the properties of the transiting material?

Should we expect any more “strange” transits from the TESS mission? What would N detections tell us about various scenarios?

How can PLATO’s age-determinations help? Does the occurrence rate of strange transits depend on age?

What type of support observations should we design to confirm/disprove scenarios?

Shallow Transits

What is the effect of spot-covering events on stellar transits? Can we use out-of-transit photometry to correct(?) them, or do we need other kind of observations?

How well could phase-folding get rid of activity for shallow transits (and eclipses)?

Should SNR_min in a transit search change if a high-SN planet is detected (in that system)?

Exocomets

What tools for fitting exocomet lightcurves exist and which tools could be adapted? (make a list)

Is it worth constructing a lightcurve zoo for easy reference? Or similarly for variability…

Do we need systematic searches? for what?

How can spectroscopic observations help us determine/constrain exocomet properties?
